Information on cookies

When you visit the madras-epices.fr website (hereinafter referred to as «the Website»), information may be recorded in «cookie» files installed by us or by third parties on your computer, tablet or mobile phone.

For the sake of clarity, this information document on the use of cookies covers both the use of Cookies files associated with the browser software on your computer, tablet or mobile phone and the use of an advertising identifier on your mobile phone (AID or IDFA described above).

This page explains what cookies are, how we use them and how you can make choices about them.

WHAT IS A COOKIE?

The term «cookie» is a generic term that designates both a text file deposited in a dedicated space on the hard disk of your terminal (computer, tablet, mobile phone or any other device optimised for the Internet), when you consult online content or advertising, and similar technologies that make it possible to read or write information on a user's terminal and, in combination with the use of cookies, to track their activity on the Internet or in an application. Some cookies are essential for using the Site, while others are used to optimise and personalise the content displayed.

The Cookie file contains certain information, such as a unique identifier, the name of the Site or Application, as well as numbers and characters. This Cookie file is read by its sender. During its period of validity, it enables its issuer to recognise the terminal concerned each time this terminal accesses digital content containing Cookies from the same issuer and to remember information such as user preferences and information previously entered by the user in forms on the Site or in the Application. Some cookies may also be used to store the contents of a shopping basket, others to record a site's language settings, and still others to carry out targeted advertising.

A Cookie does not directly identify a user (it does not contain first or last names), but rather the browser of your terminal. It does, however, make it possible to track the actions of the same user using the unique identifier contained in the Cookie file. The term «cookie» is also used generically to designate other similar technologies such as web beacons or invisible pixels, which are small digital images invisible to the user that are integrated into web pages or emails and which, combined with the deposit of cookies, make it possible to track and analyse the browsing habits of the same user.

WHAT IS THE PURPOSE OF THE COOKIES USED BY THE www.madras-epices.fr WEBSITE?

Several types of Cookies may be stored on your terminal when you access our services by visiting our Site or via our Application:

1. Technical cookies to enable you to browse the Site, to ensure the security of the Site and to enable you to access the various products and services on the Site.

Technical cookies include the strictly necessary cookies that are essential for browsing our Site (such as session identifiers and the version of your operating system), which enable you to use the Site's main functions, as well as function cookies that give you access to specific functions, in particular to recognise you, to indicate that you have visited a particular page and thus to improve your browsing comfort: adapting the Site's presentation to your terminal's display preferences (language used, display resolution), storing information relating to a form you have filled in on the Site. Technical cookies are also used to implement security measures (for example, when you are asked to connect to your account again after a certain period of time).

You may object to the use of these cookies and delete them by using your browser settings. However, you may no longer be able to access the Site and/or the Site's services.

These cookies have a very short lifespan: for strictly necessary cookies, the duration of the session, and for functionality cookies, the duration of the session, a few hours and a maximum of one year.

2. Audience measurement cookies issued by us or by our technical service providers and commercial partners for the purpose of measuring the audience for the various contents and sections of our Site, in order to evaluate and better organise them.

Audience measurement cookies are issued by us, our technical service providers or our commercial partners.

In addition to analysing the number of visitors to the site, they may also be used to detect navigation problems and improve the ergonomics of our services.

The traffic analysis services used by this Site only produce and send to our technical service providers or commercial partners aggregated statistics and traffic volumes, to the exclusion of any individual information. They cannot be used to track your browsing on other sites.

The lifetime of these audience measurement cookies does not exceed 13 months.

We also use tools to measure the effectiveness of our email campaigns, enabling us to take relevant commercial action based on the information collected (for example, sending a new message or a personalised offer).

Finally, when we wish to compile statistical audience analyses relating to the use of our Site in a form that does not allow you to be identified by name, we collect data relating to your browsing on our Site (such as the time stamp, your IP address, technical data relating to your equipment and your browser). This data is pseudonymised and your IP address is anonymised before being transferred to our analysis tool. In this case, we carry out this processing on the basis of our legitimate interest (Article 6§1f. of the RGPD), which lies in the need to better understand our audience in order to adapt our content, features and offers.

You can of course object to this processing by clicking here.

You can choose to refuse cookies for statistical analysis of your browsing data, either by configuring your browser to refuse them (see below), or by installing the «Google Analytics deactivation» extension on your browser.»

3. Advertising Cookies to adapt the advertising media on the Site or on third party sites and applications to your centres of interest and to measure their effectiveness.

The use of advertising space on our Site helps to finance the content and services that we make available to you free of charge.

The use of advertising cookies enables you to view advertising or display sponsored links that we (or our commercial partners) feel are best suited to your user profile according to your areas of interest, or even your terminal, your browsing and, where applicable, your geographical position (longitude, latitude), subject to your prior consent.

The relevance of the advertising content displayed on our Site or on third party sites may also be achieved, thanks to third party technologies and in particular those of our commercial partners, by associating the browsing information of the terminals you use to connect to our Site or to other sites with the data you have provided to us when registering or accessing one of our services.

‍Configure your cookies. To oppose the use of advertising cookies, please click here.

Rejecting these advertising cookies has no impact on the use of our Site. However, refusing them will not stop advertising on our Site or on the Internet. It will only have the effect of displaying advertising that does not take into account your centres of interest and, where applicable, that is displayed without taking into account the number of times you have already seen it.

What are advertising cookies used for?

Advertising cookies may be deposited on your terminal when you consult a site or an online advertisement, when you open electronic mail or notifications on the Site, or in any other form.

In addition, your mobile phone's advertising identifiers may, subject to the preferences you have set on your mobile phone, be readable and transmitted to us when you use the Site. Cookies and advertising identifiers make it possible to display advertising or sponsored links on our Site or on third-party sites that are tailored to your centres of interest according to your user profile, or even, where applicable, according to information concerning your browsing on our Site, and data concerning your geographical position (longitude and latitude) transmitted by your terminal with your prior consent.

They are used to measure your interactions with these advertisements: to count the number of advertisements displayed in our advertising spaces, to identify these advertisements, the number of times they are displayed for a particular user, the number of «clicks» on each advertisement and, where applicable, the subsequent actions carried out on the pages to which these advertisements lead.

They are also used to measure the effectiveness of advertising campaigns and to carry out counts in order to calculate the sums due to the players in the advertising distribution chain (advertising agency, advertising sales house, distribution site/medium) and to draw up statistics.

Finally, they limit the number of times you see the same advert on the same medium.

How is this information collected?

Advertising cookies (advertising identifiers for mobile terminals) are placed on the user's terminal using technologies («tags») supplied by our commercial partners which are inserted into the pages visited or directly inserted by the advertisers into the advertisements displayed on our Site.

This «tag» will automatically transmit to these partners information about the content of the page visited or about the advertising placed on the page visited. This information is associated with the identifier contained in the cookies placed on your computer by the partners.

How long are these advertising cookies and the associated data stored?

The life of advertising cookies placed when you browse the Site is in principle 13 months. The associated data sent to commercial partners is kept by the latter for a period which, in principle, does not exceed 13 months.

To find out how long the cookie identifiers are associated with your user profiles by the commercial partners listed below, we invite you to consult the information on their sites.

How is your user profile established?

Your user profile is established according to categories pre-established by our commercial partners on the basis of the content you have consulted on the sites concerned.

Information relating to the content consulted on our Site is associated with the identifier contained in the cookies.

The use of cookies makes it possible to associate browsing data with your profile regardless of the terminal used, thanks to cookie exchange technologies implemented by our advertising partners.

Your profile is also enhanced with information from your interactions with MADRAS SPICES and, depending on the commercial partnerships entered into with our advertising partners, with information communicated in the context of your interactions with third parties who have entered into a partnership agreement with our advertising partners, such as when you log on to an online service or subscribe to a publication or service. Reconciliations are also carried out with data collected offline and stored in our customer management tools or those of our advertising partners' commercial partners.

The use of advertising Cookies, deposited on your terminal when consulting a site or an online advertisement, when opening e-mails or in notifications on the Site, or in any other form, enables us, our commercial partners and/or their own partners to adapt the direct commercial communications sent to you according to your interactions with the advertisements placed on our Site. For example, browsing a page of our Site containing an advertisement for one of our services or for a product from a particular advertiser or a sponsored link from a particular advertiser displayed by our commercial partners may trigger the sending of an e-mail from us or from this advertiser relating to the advertisement seen. To oppose the use of advertising cookies, click here.

4. Sharing cookies (social networks) intended to improve the interactivity of the Site.

Our Site contains cookies for sharing links to Facebook, Twitter and other similar social networks, which allow you to share content on our Site with other people or to let these other people know your consultation or your opinion concerning content on the Site or to connect to access all MADRAS SPICES services using your identification data on these social networks.

This is particularly the case for the «share» and «like» buttons on the «Facebook» and «twitter» social networks. The social network providing such an application button is likely to identify you thanks to this button, even if you have not used it when visiting our Site.

These cookies are deposited directly by these social networks. If you are connected to the social network while browsing our Site, the sharing buttons allow you to link the content consulted to your user account.

These cookies may also be deposited if your browser displays content from social networks embedded within content on the Site.

We invite you to consult the privacy protection policies of these social networks in order to find out how the browsing information they may collect through these application buttons is used, particularly for advertising purposes.

The lifetime of these cookies does not normally exceed 13 months.

We expect our partners to use your personal data only to manage or provide the services requested and ask them to always act in accordance with the applicable laws on the protection of personal data and to pay particular attention to the confidentiality of such data.
